2022 has the potential to be a historic year for transportation in California! This year, Streets for All has a dedicated team making sure the California legislature makes as much progress as possible in creating a safe, sustainable, and equitable transportation future. We are proud to announce our support of the following bills this session.

Sen. Portantino

Requires cities to plan for traffic calming measures on their highest injury corridors.

SB-1079: Reduces illegal noise pollution

Sen. Portantino

Directs California Highway Patrol to perform a test of automated noise camera technology for potential use in reducing noise from illegally modified mufflers.

AB-2264: Standardizes pedestrian head starts

Asm. Bloom

Standardizes leading pedestrian intervals at city intersections. LPIs make it safer for pedestrians by giving them a head start to walk across the intersection and makes them more visible to drivers.

AB-2496: Requires noise polluters fix illegally modified mufflers

Asm. Petrie-Norris

Freezes registration for cars with unresolved fix-it ticket violations for illegally modified mufflers.

Allows cyclists to yield at stop signs when cars are not already at the intersection, reducing interactions between cyclists and police by codifying normal cycling behavior.

Prohibits freeway widening projects in areas with high rates of pollution and poverty.
