Neighborhood Councils are the “closest form of government to the people” in Los Angeles. NC’s consider supporting or opposing many critical issues in Los Angeles including Land Use, Transportation, Homelessness services, etc. They also frequently issue Neighborhood Purpose Grants to the community.
We’ve endorsed Slates and candidates who’ve shown an understanding and commitment to building safer, efficient, and equitable streetscapes via actions and answers to our questionnaire.

Mid City West
In Mid City West SFA has endorsed the Mid City West Progressive Slate for their commitment to safe streets, open space access, and building a walkable neighborhood.

PICO
With multiple candidates who have fought for safer streets, combined with an explicit goal of making streets and sidewalks more accessible, SFA has endorsed the Progressive P.I.C.O. Slate in the P.I.C.O neighborhood council election.
Greater Wilshire
SFA has endorsed the Greater Wilshire Neighbors for Progress Slate due to their clear understanding of first-last-mile connections and the opportunities walking and biking provide to combat air pollution.
East Hollywood
SFA has endorsed the East Hollywood Progressives Slate for their commitment to safe and efficient pedestrian, bicycle, and bus improvements.
Hollywood Hills West
For showing a strong understanding of our public space use, sidewalk quality, transit access, and street safety, SFA endorses the following candidates for HHWNC:

Wilshire Center Koreatown
Ktown Team has shown driven leadership to create safer streets in Koreatown. A visionary pedestrian-focused re-design of 6th street, support for Slow Streets, and a commitment towards more accessible sidewalks, are some of what makes a SFA endorsement a no-brainer.
DTLA
A Better Downtown Slate has a clear vision for one of our regions most important transportation nodes. Building streets that prioritize buses, bikers, and pedestrians will increase mobility options for downtown’s many commuters.
Westlake South
The Better Westlake South Slate includes incumbent Alexander K. Robinson and David Jordan; they support the reallocation of road space from cars to more equitable transportation options, free transit, and making Slow Streets into a permanent utility.

Echo Park
The Echo Park Progressive Slate will advocate for more protected bike lanes, more pedestrian friendly crossings, and increased metro service. The envision the creation of “no car zones” in the style of perminant CicLAvias.
Silver Lake
The Silver Lake Rising Slate shows a holistic understanding of how transportation works in Los Angeles. Among other things, they want a complete network of bus-only lanes, and the ability for every student to walk safely to school.
We’ve also chosen to endorse Eric Brightwell for Region 6 because of his thoughtful and comprehensive understanding of transportation issues.
Los Feliz
These candidates see transportation as a civil rights issue, want perminant slow streets, and want the city to actually meet it’s own Vision Zero goal:

Westwood Forward are proven advocates for mobility justice in the Los Angeles area. They will fight for rapid build-outs of high quality transit and active transportation options - including a good UCLA connection for the Sepulveda Subway.
Studio City
Studio City for All believes in building streets that work compassionately towards all users. This means building infrastructure that allow for safe use by pedestrians, bikers, and all members of the community.
Noho
For the North Hollywood Neighborhood Council, we’ve endorsed Logan Rees, James Askew, and Russell Wolff. All candidates will work to build safer streets, including an expansion of roundabouts, protected bicycle lanes and crosswalks, prohibiting right turns on red lights.
Greater Valley Glen
Rishab Nathan will advocate for street safety and expanded public transport. As a survivor of a near-fatal road accident he understands deeply the danger many of our most vulnerable road users face.
Sherman Oaks
Michael Fishman is a dedicated transportation advocate, he is the Board President of LACBC and co-founder of the bike company Pure Cycles.

Mar Vista for All would be a vital voice for a neighborhood council that has historically fought progressive transportation solutions. This means supporting free & safe public transit, more protected bike lanes, and better sidewalk infrastructure
South Robertson
SORO Together believes in a massive increase in transit options, bike infrastructure, and pedestrian improvements. Specifically, protected bike lanes and bus schedules that get you where you need to go without having to wait.
